Terms of Use

These terms are the end-user licence agreement between you and Version Two s.r.o. for the Penwise application. Installing or using Penwise means you accept them.
Penwise is not medical advice
This is the most important clause in this document.
Penwise is a tracking and education tool. It is not a medical device, it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not prescribe. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to start, stop, change, delay or adjust any dose of any medicine.
- Estimated medication levels are a mathematical model, not a measurement of what is actually in your body.
- Schedules, reminders and projections describe the plan you entered, not a plan we are advising.
- Insights describe patterns in what you logged. They are not predictions and not diagnoses.
Always confirm dosing and treatment with the clinician who prescribed your medication. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read in Penwise. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service.
The optional pen tools
Penwise includes calculators that are switched off by default and must be enabled deliberately in Settings under Advanced. They cover counting the dial clicks of an injector pen, recovering a residual “golden dose” from a pen’s overfill, and converting a dose to units on a U-100 syringe.
These techniques are off-label. Manufacturers do not endorse them, some explicitly advise against them, and the figures Penwise uses come from published research and community measurement rather than from the manufacturer of your device. They are provided for education only. Any device holds its stated number of doses; anything beyond that is not guaranteed to be a full or accurate dose. Use them only with your clinician’s agreement, and never as the basis for an injection you would not otherwise give.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Penwise on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, rent, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
Your content
Your health record is yours. It is stored on your device and we neither hold it nor claim any right to it. You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Deleting the app deletes the data with it.
Penwise+ and billing
Penwise is free to use. Penwise+ unlocks additional features.
- A 14-day free trial of Penwise+ is available once.
- Penwise+ is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, billed either monthly or annually, and, where offered, as a one-time lifetime purchase. The lifetime purchase does not renew.
- In the euro area Penwise+ costs €2.49 per month, €19.99 per year, or €59.99 once for the lifetime purchase. In other regions the store sets the local price.
- Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy, exactly as the store quotes them.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings at any time. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue a refund for a store purchase.
Availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Penwise, including features of Penwise+. Where a change materially removes something you paid for, we will say so in the release notes.
Disclaimer of warranties
Penwise is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any calculation, estimate or reminder is accurate or suitable for your situation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Version Two s.r.o. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profit, or health outcome, arising out of your use of or inability to use Penwise. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. Mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live are not affected by this clause.
Changes
Updated terms ship with an app update and the date above changes with them. Continuing to use Penwise after an update means you accept the updated terms.
